Looking Back 2009

It is overdue for a "Year-End Review" post now with National Service and physical fatigue being in the way, but nevertheless how can I not look back at God's blessings.

Enough said, done for some breaking down of details.

A desire that is unspoken of,
that is to become a wedding photographer one day.
Then there was an unexpected call, to cover a wedding.

"Alex + Amille", my first experience.
From 5.30am till 11pm, it's just shooting and snapping.
Then, 2 more weddings and a wedding banquet came.

Thinking back, I enjoy them.
"Thanks guys."


Then, there was 2 busy months of shooting (and some designing).
Mid February till late April.
Tiring, yet enjoyable.

Thank God for this open door.
To be finally shooting for my church (and some web designing).


Church Camp 2009, my first trip overseas.
I have a friend to thank for for this sponsored trip.

5 days of heavy-duty photography,
5 days of reflections.

Until today, I asked myself,
Uth Ministry, or ACTS?
Hard decision to call.


11 Saturdays of plain shooting,
followed by many hours of editing.
Tiring, but I enjoy what I do.

Old partners left, new partners came.
Young but good learners.
I've learnt something from them myself too.


Then, Nation Service came.
Used to have my pink IC, now I have my 11B.

1 month of PTP, 3 months of FFC.

Challenging, exhausting,
Physically, mentally and spiritually.

Frustrations comes easier then before,
Anger builds up rapidly than my heart beats.

Many times, I took Him for granted.
Many times, I thought I could do it on my own.
Then He allowed me to fail in some challenges,
so I may depend on Him in my retest.

REPT, Heat & Humility, CAAD, Flashover, HazMat, BAPT, IPPT, FireWar, FSC.
All conquered, all by his grace.

"Though I failed You in the last 3 months,
You still see me through.
There's even a gold badge even.
Thanks, God."

2009 in summary,
A challenging, rough and trialling year.
A year of more mistake-making.

So many distractions,
So many heartbreaks.

Silence, filled with pain.
Outside, I'm laughing,
Inside, who will know?
God knows.

2010, a mystery.
May it not be as bad as 2009.
